Heart For The World School of Missions and Ministry
exists to equip students with a solid biblical foundation through educational study and practical training of its principles to impact the community and the nations of the world with the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.
Through on site and online programs, SMM will provide classes with Christ-centered, Bible-based curriculum with an emphasis on application to build strong, stable Christian lives and enable believers to better use their gifts and callings to glorify God, and fulfill the Great Commission.
Why SMM
Heart for the World (HFTW) Church has long had a motto of
“being a neighborhood church on a world-wide mission”.

Dale Walker, the pastor and founder of HFTW, has long had the heart and desire to spread the love of Jesus to those near and far, to the least and the greatest. The church has connected with Christian leaders and churches in Latin America, the Philippines and Africa with the desire to help them in outreach to their people.

When Harvest Bible University offered HFTW the opportunity to come under their academic covering, the dream of equipping people through a challenging study format became reachable. The goal of giving people the platform to gain a better understanding of the Word of God and ministry, while imparting necessary character development and skills for spreading the Gospel, became a reality.

Our History
Heart for the World School of Missions and Ministry started up in the Fall of 2020. Equipped with curriculum from Harvest Bible University students enrolled in Bible, Character Development, and Ministry classes taught by experienced and credentialed volunteer instructors. Through the gracious offer from a Pastor in Mexico to teach a class, SMMl was also able to reach out to many in Spanish.

During the middle of that first trimester the world underwent a major shift due to Covid 19 restrictions. Not wanting to stop the classes, the decision to switch the instruction to the online Zoom platform took place. Instead of this being a hinderance to learning, it became a way of reaching out to even more people in Africa and the Philippines.

With each trimester we have been able to expand our courses to include theology, evangelism, and language classes. The school has just completed its third academic year and the Spanish branch has grown to include more teachers. We are still in the developmental stages, seeing progress year by year and we are trusting God’s in guidance for future developments.
